Bethsaida Full Gospel Church (Phoenix in metropolitan Durban, South Africa)
Some 30 years ago, Carl and Beverly were in Durban when Pastor Emmanuel J. Moodley planted a new church with only 12 members under the shade of a large tree on a vacant lot. Since that day, that new life-giving church has grown to more than 10,000 members, mostly converted Hindus and Muslims. Carl and Beverly have ministered so frequently there that Pastor Moodley honors Carl by referencing him as his mentor. Now one of the nation's leading congregations, they are constructing a massive new church complex to include a Free Clinic for children of HIV/AIDS, led by physicians and nurses from the congregation. Recently, an ongoing ministry to needy widows was also created.
