Email Excerpts

Host Pastor Emmanuel J. Moodley wrote: “Bethsaida Ministries International is truly grateful to you for the splendid Compassion South Africa Conference on Care.

This undoubtedly shatters all records in quality, quantity, attendance and spiritual fervor. Your excellent team was most gracious. They were all top-class and blended with our people with ease.

We were touched by all that was accomplished during the week that was! There is now a new buzz - a good buzz in the church and in our country. Our African pastors and leaders were honored as never before in their lifetime. Plans are already underway for the major renovations and use of our new Compassion South Africa Ministry Centre. You will be proud of it when completed which will be fully used for benevolence ministries throughout our community and nation. It will also serve as a gateway to the entire continent of Africa for benevolence ministries - all in the Name of Jesus.

It is now time for action and serious work. The clinic and orphanage must be fully renovated and furnished and the 10,000 seat auditorium must be completed. I know you will be in touch with heaven on our behalf. Blessings upon all your further outreaches in so many parts of the world! I trust everyone enjoyed your visit to Kruger Park and with Missionaries Paul and Ellie van Zyl’s ministry and household.”

Mr. Reggie Naidoo, Commercial Manager of the First National Bank of the Natal Region headquartered in Durban wrote: “What an awesome and eye-opening conference that enriched me spiritually. Shirley and I were blest beyond measure. The timing could not have been more perfect.

Some 23 months ago, I took a step back from ministry at Bethsaida for personal reasons. Your invitation for me to assist in Betsy Davis’ business seminar was an answer to prayer. I have been trusting God to help me as I searched for new ministry avenues in the church. This Conference on Care has brought some answers to this quest. A few months ago, I spoke to my pastor about creating a business person’s forum which would minister on a two-fold approach; one, up-skilling in business matters; and two, tackling a project of benevolence ministries. I see myself fitting into this and I have already started some planning around this since the Conference on Care. Should you need my assistance in South Africa, I am most willing to assist.”

Angie Reddy, chairperson of the Logistics Committee wrote: “Mere words are inadequate to describe how grateful we are to you for hosting the Conference on Care here at Bethsaida Ministries International. The numbers of participants exceeded 2,000 people with 277 registered Pastors from throughout South Africa. Delegates also personally registered from Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, The Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Liberia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and The Philippines, with 217 of those pastors fully sponsored by your ministry for roundtrip transportation from where they were to Durban; lodging and three meals per day; and ground transportation to the church for every session. You also provided a generous supply of humanitarian assistance with instructions for 234 churches to begin a local church food pantry in their various communities - all in the Name of Jesus. Free Study Guides and programs were printed and distributed amongst the delegates. Also, 220 Bibles were distributed to needy pastors in English, Zulu, Xhosa, Soto, and Swazi through the aegis of the South African Bible Society. The gift packets provided by Operation Compassion were also a big hit amongst our pastors as were the personalized Certificates of Awards late Friday afternoon. The Certificates issued also broke all records. Not even in the Corporate World where I work is the turnaround time done in such quality and quantity. Your generous contribution to our church of a new multi-colored computer printer helped make all this happen. Thank you, thank you, thank you for instilling greater compassion in so many South Africans during this incredible Conference on Care. It was an honor to participate in such a significant event!”
